Worm in the Big Apple

A bad joke? You bet! But not as bad a joke as Eric Holder's decision to bring Khalid Sheik Mohammed to New York to stand trial for his role in planning and executing the 9/11 attacks.

By making this a criminal (rather than military) trial, the intelligence gathering operations of the United States will almost certainly be compromised. And do we really want to risk another decision along the lines of "if the glove don't fit, you must acquit?"

Moreover, by bringing 9/11's mastermind into the heart of New York, Holder increases the likelihood that the city will be ground zero for new attacks.

Of course, it seems unlikely that Holder would take such a bold (and preposterous) step without first getting the approval of Barack Hussein Obama. But as the president has claimed no role in making the decision, we don't want to jump to conclusions...
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS: Want to do something about this travesty? Follow this link to "The Bravest," where you can sign a letter from New York's firefighters, police, and the families of 9/11 to tell Obama to stop this anti-American circus before it starts.

Sound of Silence

After delaying a decision on sending additional troops to Afghanistan for 3 months, Barack Obama has finally reviewed all of the options presented to him and declared that he doesn't like any of them, and that he might...or might not...make an actual decision in "a few MORE weeks." Meanwhile, our troops are dying, our national resolve is in serious question among our remaining allies, and the people of Afghanistan are now renewing friendly ties with the taliban so they won't be left hanging in case the president's eventual decision is to run like a scalded dog.

On Veteran's Day, the president clenched his jaw photogenically and placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Hope n' Change thinks a similar wreath should be placed in front of the White House; the "Tomb of the Unknown Decision."

Intelligent Life

As if news on Earth hasn't been strange enough lately, the Vatican is hosting a group of experts who will advise the Catholic church about the possibility of extraterrestrial aliens, and the religious implications thereof.

Here at Hope n' Change, we encourage the Vatican to complete this project as quickly as possible. After all, if American taxpayers are about to foot the bill for Universal Healthcare, we'd better find out how many living beings there are in the Universe...and what sort of expenses we'll face when tentacles and eye-stalks start going bad!

Clothes Make The Man

Despite a trillion dollar stimulus package which didn't stimulate squat, unemployment under the Obama administration has now reached 10.2%...unless you count the people who have given up looking for work, or accepted parttime jobs. Then the figure is 17.5%

To fight this trend, the president has...uh....hang on, I'm sure something will come to us...oh yeah! He's pushed healthcare reform that will raise costs and cause employers to cut jobs! And he raised the minimum wage, causing employers to cut jobs! And he's devaluing the American dollar with soaring deficits, causing employers to cut still more jobs!

In fact, all of the evidence indicates that the president wants high unemployment to force people to accept more government control over their lives. But of course, we shouldn't jump to conclusions...

Wright Wing Extremist

Click Cartoon for Larger Size
Despite mounting evidence that the massacre at Fort Hood was the worst Islamic terror attack on US soil since 9/11, the president and senior members of his administration continue to dismiss reports of Major Hasan's anti-American beliefs and activities, while fretting about a potential anti-Muslim backlash which has never manifested itself in the past.

This bizarre and repugnant desire to protect the perpetrator's reputation and motives while impugning the American public comes uncomfortably close to Reverend Jeremiah Wright's portrayal of the 9/11 attacks. But of course, Barack Hussein Obama would no more disavow his spiritual mentor than he could disavow his white grandmother...

Chief-In-Chief

Last Thursday morning, the president took time out from his busy, busy schedule of making government promises to apologize for 200 years of breaking government promises.

During his speech to an assembly of Native American tribes, the allegedly-American president said that he "understands what it means to be an outsider," (perhaps because he attended private schools) and said "only in America can the adopted son of Crow Indians grow up to be president." Huh?

It turns out that Barack Black Eagle was "adopted" in 2008, at the age of 46. When it comes to "growing up," we suppose that it's better late than never...

Earth To Janet...

Before anyone gets their prayer rugs in a twist, we are not equating Islam with swine flu. We are, however, suggesting rather strongly that Janet Napolitano shows a continuing inability to identify or act on real threats to our country.

The Homeland Security Secretary, while visiting Abu Dhabi, told Arabs that her department would be working to prevent any possible "wave of anti-Muslim sentiment" after the killing spree of Major Nidal Malik Hasan.

That's an interesting choice of words, Janet. Why should Homeland Security be involved with shaping the "sentiments" of the American people? Shouldn't you be doing other things like, oh, giving heightened scrutiny to people with access to military bases who post praise of suicide bombers online?

And why, when speaking at an international forum, would the Secretary continue to paint an ugly, untrue picture of America's citizenry as a potentially dangerous, anti-Muslim mob? Apparently, encouraging a wave of anti-American sentiment is still considered acceptable by this administration.

UPDATE: ABC News is now reporting that the CIA was aware for months that Hasan was trying to contact suspected members of Al Qaeda. So, Janet, were the soldiers killed because the Obama administration's rigid enforcement of political correctness prevented this critical information from being acted on?
